Kenneth Leong

Director

Kenneth brings over 20 years of corporate finance and international business experience to Tiaki Capital, where he leads mergers, acquisitions, and investment facilitation across New Zealand and Asia.

His transaction work spans both buy-side and sell-side mandates, with a particular focus on cross-border deals, capital raising, and SME acquisitions. Kenneth combines deep deal and operational experience with an extensive regional network, giving clients practical access to capital and counterparties across the Asia-Pacific.

Kenneth has been an active advocate for Asia-New Zealand business engagement for over 15 years. He served as Chairman of the ASEAN New Zealand Business Council (2017-2021) and as a member of the Ministerial Strategic Advisory Group on Trade (2021-2023), roles that reflect his standing at the intersection of commerce and policy. In 2026, he was appointed as a trustee of the Asia New Zealand Foundation. He was inducted by KEA as a World Class New Zealander in 2015.

His career in corporate finance began at Deloitte and Macquarie Bank, before moving into entrepreneurial roles as a director-shareholder across education, technology, and business services. Having sat on both sides of the table as an owner-operator, Kenneth brings a perspective that goes beyond the numbers.

Kenneth is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors and brings a strong governance track record to his work, including nine years as a trustee of the Auckland Foundation (2016-2025).
